Crafting the Perfect DIY Lip Balm: A Step-by-Step Guide to Your New Favorite Luscious Lip Balm

I've been creating this lip balm for more than ten years now! It's incredibly easy to make, using only natural ingredients that feel absolutely fantastic on your lips. And the best part? You can personalize it even further by incorporating your favorite essential oils (I only recommend doTERRA oils) or adding Mica for a natural tint or shimmer!

Ingredients:

1 once beeswax

1 ounce coconut oil

1 ounce shea or cocoa butter (or combo of both)

Vitamin E (optional to help preserve)

30 drops essential oils

Lip balm tubs or tins

Oils we love for lip balm:

Melissa + Peppermint (This one is great for cold sore support)

Directions:

Measure butters and coconut oil and place in glass jar. Fill a large saucepan with one and a half inches of water and bring to a boil. Once boiling, add glass jar to the center of the saucepan. Stir every few minutes until ingredients are melted and combined. Add in Mica, if using and stir. Once the wax is melted, remove from heat and let sit for three minutes then add essential oils and a squirt of vitamin E, if using. Pour mixture into lip balm containers or tins and let cool. Makes about 20 tubes.

Tip: Tip: For a firmer lip balm in warm climates, add an extra half ounce of beeswax. For a softer balm in colder areas, include an additional half ounce of coconut oil. You can also make smaller batches by halving or quartering the recipe.

Give it a go! You'll be surprised at how simple and delightful this recipe is. If you don't have doTERRA essential oils yet, check out the links in this post or visit my current promos page for any ongoing freebies. I'm here to assist you on your essential oil journey.
